Jeanna grew up in Eaton Rapids and has a background in gymnastics and cheer. She graduated with a B.A. in Business from Baker College and an M.A. in Counseling from Cornerstone University, which are both coming in handy as she builds her counseling practice serving young adults. Her husband, Kyle, is also a counselor and they have a son, Everett, who is currently into monster trucks and doing everything “by himself” (4 going on 14.) Jeanna has been part of the Studio Barre Grand Rapids tribe since the studio opened, and continues to benefit from the class’s challenging workouts. She loves to be on the mic and looks forward to teaching about the mind-body connection. As one of the Master Teacher Trainers (a.k.a hard-core-SB-nerd), she loves to learn and inspire others to continue growing as well.
Andrea was born and raised in Midland, Michigan, but now is happy to call West Michigan home. Andrea started out playing soccer at Northwood University in Midland, she then transferred to Northern Michigan University in Marquette and graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Health& Fitness Management. She later moved to Phoenix, Arizona to build her career in Group Fitness and Corporate Wellness. After being in the desert, Andrea moved back to Michigan to be closer to family and to enjoy all four seasons (because we all know Arizona only has one!) She relocated to Grand Rapids on a whim and soon after got a job at Gentex Corporation in Zeeland and met her now husband, Alex! Andrea loves to be outside, enjoy a glass of red wine, and spend time with family. She believes that the power of fitness and positive energy can be life changing and Studio Barre can bring that!
Emily grew up on the east side of MI but moved to Grand Rapids to go to school at Grand Valley in 2016. She studied Hospitality and Tourism with an emphasis in meetings and events in hopes of being a successful wedding planner one day. Immediately after graduating Emily started taking steps toward starting a wedding planning business and in May of 2020, In the Details Weddings LLC was born! Emily loves all things beautiful and has a passion for planning so naturally, the wedding industry is where she fell. In addition to her passion for weddings, Emily grew up being a dancer which is why barre has always been appealing to her. Ever since she took her first barre class a couple years ago, she has been hooked! She loves the opportunity it gives her to continue working on her flexibility as well as growing strength. She enjoys being at Studio Barre because of the beautiful, welcoming and motivating environment. It has quickly become one of her favorite places for “me time” and she looks forward to continuing her journey here.
Maria is originally from the Holland area but moved to Grand Rapids for college while attending Calvin University. She graduated spring of 2020 with double B.A. degrees in Business Marketing Management and Strategic Communication and works full time now as an insurance agent at a downtown brokerage. Maria fell in love with dance at a young age, and that passion continued throughout school as she performed with her dance team in high school and as a choreographer/participant in dance clubs at Calvin. As Maria has gotten older, her love for dance has matured into a broader love for movement. At the same time that she started to experiment with barre class, Maria also got into yoga, boxing, weight lifting, and casual running as well. Maria is always looking for new ways to move and challenge my body and grow in my connection with it, and the barre community has been such a rewarding and fulfilling place to work and exercise that growth.
Rebecca was born in Wisconsin (Go Pack, Go!), raised in east Michigan and has one younger sister who also doubles as her best friend. She made the move to the west side for college, attending Grand Valley State University (Laker for a lifetime!) where she studied exercise science and met some of her best friends. She started Irish Dancing as a wee one and continued on for 10 years. She really found her stride when she started running track in middle school and hasn’t stopped since. Rebecca has numerous half marathons under her belt and completed two full marathons since finishing college. Running the Detroit marathon was one of the best days of her life. Right after college, Rebecca moved to Grand Haven for my first real adult job as a full time fitness instructor. After a year there, she missed the city and knew she needed to get back. Since being back in Grand Rapids she started working at Gazelle Sports and knew she needed to keep her fitness instructing skills sharp. Studio Barre was the perfect fit and she loves her role as a barre{tender}.
Megan was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has a cheer, music, and dance background and has always had an itch to perform. She graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Radiography. She has a strong passion for health and fitness and that is what brought her to Studio Barre for the first time. Megan has dabbled in many different forms of exercise and nothing has challenged her quite like the Studio Barre method; not to mention the physical results and the Beyonce booty gains are a huge plus! Did we mention she loves Beyonce? She also loves the positive vibes she gets from teaching and taking class at the studio! She just can’t get enough of that shaky burn that hurts so good. She absolutely adores being a barre{tender} and can’t wait to shake things up and tuck with you!
Anna attended college at Aquinas in Grand Rapids, MI, where she played softball and completed her degree in Business and Accounting. After earning her CPA and working in public accounting, Anna spent time in finance and marketing with Steelcase and Ingersoll Rand. Anna first fell in love with barre when she took a class while living in Charlotte, NC. Always a fitness fanatic, Anna was searching for something effective and challenging and loved the results. She was hooked and jumped at the opportunity to teach when she got the chance. In the midst of balancing a full time job, 2 kids at the time and teaching, Anna knew her path wasn’t sustainable. While she was content at her “day job”, she always felt she had so much more to offer and passion to share. When researching barre studios, Anna fell in love with Studio Barre – the high energy, challenging workouts, the signature “classy sass” and the focus on community. She lives with her husband and 3 daughters in East Grand Rapids and is thrilled to own a business within her community and spread the SB love!
Born and raised on the east side of the state, Sara is now happy to call West Michigan her forever home. She moved to the Grand Rapids area 9 years ago after attending college in Northern Michigan. With years of cheer and dance experience she was eager to find a workout regimen that fulfilled her needs. Intrigued by the “mind body connection” barre offers, along with her love for health and fitness she started at Studio Barre in July. The fun-loving atmosphere and challenging work out has her completely hooked! Sara strongly believes in fostering a welcoming and encouraging environment and is happy to be part of such an incredible team!
Ashley is a native of West Michigan. As a child she danced competitively and then moved on to competitive cheerleading, which led her to compete for five years at Grand Valley State University. She remains involved in the program as an assistant coach of GVSU’s co-ed and all-girl cheer teams. Studio Barre provided Ashley’s first barre experience. The challenge presented by mind-body connecting movements peaked her interest and the studio quickly became her favorite place for
“me time”. She loves being a part of the team that ignited her love for barre, and the opportunity to lead classes that she hopes provides a similar sense of challenge and self-love that she experiences when taking class. She sees Studio Barre as an environment of sisterhood where every member roots for one another, and she is thankful to be a part of that strong, audacious, beautiful tribe.
